Hi, Everybody! Welcome to the Save Pooh Blog!

Welcome to "Let's Save Pooh," a new blog aimed at preserving the precious legacy of Bitish storyteller A.A. Milne and the wonderful, so very human fellow he created, Winnie The Pooh.

Pooh is the property of Stephen Slesinger Inc., a tiny little company not much bigger than Pooh himself, that has managed Pooh Bear's image and likeness since 1929.

This site is dedicated to Milne and to Stephen Slesinger, the marketing genius who discovered Pooh in a New York City bookstore and went on to become the world's first true "brand" agent.

Stephen Slesinger was the husband and father, respectively, of Shirley Slesinger Lasswell and Patricia Slesinger Benson, the two women whose lives have been intertwined with Pooh story since the 1940's.

Together, each of the Slesingers have designed, created and distributed or licensed hundreds of variations on theme of Pooh and his friends in the Hundred-Mile Wood since Stephen Slesinger acquired the exclusive rights to seell Pooh merchandise from A.A. Milne himself in 1929 and 1930.

Save Pooh is designed to tell the story of these marketing pioneers and the efforts of a so-called "family" studio to steal those rights from the family that Milne and his illustrator gave them to.

We will keep you updated on developments in the long-running case Stephen Slesinger Inc. v. Disney in California courts, and on our recent U.S. Supreme Court victory that prevented Disney from stealing our rights.

We hope you enjoy this blog, and look forward to seeing you again soon!
